Background

Suubi Agro Company was founded in 2009 by Mr. Suubi Celestine, an entrepreneur and businessman with a vision of adding value to agricultural produce while employing and empowering youth with practical life skills.

The company is fully- registered with certificates and licenses that permit it to legally operate within the Republic of Uganda with valid certificates of incorporation, certificates for suitability of premises, trading licenses and various standards certifications.

What we do

The company specializes in value addition to agricultural produce through the production and packaging of delectable snacks from locally sourced agricultural raw materials including maize, soya beans, groundnuts, wheat flour, pumpkin seeds, simsim, plantain and Irish potatoes.

We specialize in value addition

All our major raw materials are produced and procured from local farmers in Uganda, mainly from the districts of Jinja, Kayunga, Hoima, Kibuuku, Namutumba, Budaka, Kitgum, Kasese, Kisoro and Soroti.

The company currently employs over 70+ youths, men and women both skilled and non-skilled who are actively involved in the production, sale and distribution of snacks in the supermarkets, wholesale and retail shops in different parts of the country. Our products are widely consumed by all people across different demographics and age groups throughout the entire country.

Originally, the company was located in Wanyange zone, in Jinja district and started with a staff of six members who were actively involved in the production, sales and distribution of snacks in wholesale and retail shops in the areas of Jinja, Iganga, Bugiri and Kamuli districts.

During the early days, the company produced snacks mainly from only three locally sourced agricultural raw materials, which included maize, soya beans and groundnuts purchased from local agro stores in Jinja city. In 2018, due to market limitations, inadequate storage facilities, substandard quality of raw materials especially maize grains and subpar soya milling machines used in processing Baggia around the company locality, the company resorted to change of location from Wanyange zone, Jinja district to Ssekanyoni Zone, Kampala district with better and more spacious facilities, quality supplies and a wider market base for our products.
